Individualized ABA Therapy
Beyond Behavior
Our ABA Service Model
Our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) service model provides highly individualized assessment and treatment planning tailored to the unique needs of each child. Every child is different, and our approach reflects that. Assessments are conducted with careful consideration of each child’s strengths, skill levels, developmental profile, and behavioral needs—regardless of age or developmental level.
We are a needs-based provider, offering both Focused ABA and Comprehensive ABA intervention models.
Inervention Models
Focused ABA Intervention
(10–25 Hours Per Week)
Focused ABA is a lower-intensity model designed to target specific skill deficits or behaviors. This model is appropriate when intervention is concentrated on a limited number of goals, such as:
- Reducing specific challenging behaviors
- Improving communication skills
- Increasing independence in targeted areas
Focused services typically range from 10–25 hours per week and are ideal when a child requires support in select domains rather than across multiple developmental areas.
Inervention Models
Comprehensive ABA Intervention
(25–40 Hours Per Week)
Comprehensive ABA is a higher-intensity model designed for children who demonstrate skill deficits across multiple developmental domains along with behaviors targeted for reduction. This model typically includes 25–40 hours of weekly intervention and addresses areas such as:
- Communication
- Social skills
- Play skills
- Adaptive/self-help skills
- Academic readiness
- Behavior reduction
Comprehensive programming is designed to promote meaningful progress across a broad range of developmental skills.
Collaborative Decision-Making
Determining whether Focused or Comprehensive services are most appropriate is a collaborative process. We partner closely with caregivers, highly valuing their insight and input when selecting the service model that best meets their child’s needs.
Early Intervention: Building the Foundation for Success
Early intervention is key to long-term success. Our early intervention programming focuses on teaching pivotal learning skills—the foundational abilities that allow children to “learn how to learn.”
Examples of skill acquisition programs include:
- Expressive communication
- Receptive communication
- Social engagement
- Learning readiness skills
A child’s strengths guide where we begin. Communication programming may include:
- Vocal/verbal communication
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Sign language
- Picture-based systems
By individualizing our starting point, we create meaningful and functional communication systems that support long-term independence.
Behavior Reduction Through Skill Building
Our approach to reducing challenging behaviors focuses on teaching appropriate replacement behaviors. Rather than simply addressing behavior, we teach functional alternatives, including:
- Functional communication skills
- Coping strategies
- Acceptance and toleration skills
- Waiting skills
- Decision-making skills
By building these skills, we promote independence, emotional regulation, and long-term success.
Who We Serve
ABA can benefit individuals of many ages and diagnoses. Our clinic provides services to children ages 2–12 with developmental delays. While insurance most commonly covers services for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), some insurance plans may cover additional diagnoses. We encourage caregivers to review their individual insurance plans to determine specific coverage details.
